Laboratory Technician II (Animal Pathology)

I graduated with a BS in Marine Biology from UCSC in 2004. During my time in college, I worked as a Senior Animal Care specialist for the Long Marine Laboratory’s Marine Mammal Physiology Project. I supported their on-going research projects and helped care for dolphins, sea lions and sea otters. As a member of the Filipino Student Association, I supported the mentorship and retention programs and became the Secretary from the 2001-2002 school year.
I am a Lab Technician and the Safety Officer of the DFG in Santa Cruz. I am part of the pathology team, emergency spill response wildlife care team and the laboratory support team. When my hands aren’t bloody, I maintain our microbiology data and am involved in our conservation research that is overseen by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
*If you or someone you know is interested in obtaining a Sea Otter pelt and/or skull, feel free to give me an email. You must have a legit purpose for the items (i.e. educational, museum display, etc).*
